I had been battling a the start of a cold. By the end of last week, I was out and out sick. Not leaving the recliner and napping all day sick.
I knew that I didn't want to take the normal, over the counter stuff to treat it, so that left relying on herbs and vitamins. (I will admit that I took a decongestant at one point in desperation, but it didn't help). I immediately increased my intake of both vitamin D3 and vitamin C and I started drinking herbal teas.
The herbal tea brand that I tend to use is Traditional Medicinals. What I like about them is that they offer a variety of different blends, and they are readily available. Because trust me, the last thing that I want to do while I'm sick is to make a trip to the local food co-op. Wal Mart even carries them.
I alternated between two teas, the Echinacea Elder and the Breath Easy. I added local honey to both. While I'm still not completely over my cold, but it never did go into my chest (even though it tried) and I am no longer achy and tired.
I wish I had been better prepared for getting sick, but I am so glad that I was able to use natural products to treat it.
